Currently, Herman Miller seeks a Business Development Dealer Manager for the Bay Area Northern California territory. You will be challenged to develop revenue from new accounts and/or penetrate existing account segments where we have not previously done business. In addition, you will be asked to maintain and to grow revenue from assigned dealers and to partner with dealer management to develop, implement and monitor annual business plans and sales strategies. In order to hit the ground running, the most successful candidates will have existing relationships within this territory and the contract furniture and/or periphery industries.
Additional responsibilities of this role include:
- Make initial key contacts with customers to develop and establish productive/collaborative relationships.
- Influence decision makers by using consultative-selling skills to discover, diagnose and solidify their needs and propose/deliver world-class solutions.
- Manage major projects and be responsible for sales strategy and the coordination of necessary resources.
- Act as a liaison between the dealer and local regional sales employees to provide sales support and to shift accounts to the dealer when appropriate.
- Ensure the dealer has all necessary resources, tools and training to sell independently, whenever possible.
- Conduct quarterly reviews with assigned dealers and coordinate with distribution management for the development/implementation of dealer sales strategies/plans.
EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of successful contract or capital goods selling experience, preferably including experience as a dealer direct salesperson. A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field-equivalent level of experience considered. An Individual must demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn, be results-oriented, participate on a team, and be able to lead and sometimes follow on project. In addition, candidates should posses advanced-selling skills (e.g. qualify prospects, lead generation, new business development, account penetration, strategic selling, conceptual selling, issues-based selling, consultative selling, negotiation, contracts and closing).
SALARY: Base+ Incentive+ Total Compensation
