Equity Office is an owner and operator of primarily Class A office
buildings in multiple markets across the country. The company is an
affiliate of the Blackstone Group, a premier global private equity firm.
This senior engineer position is part of the overall preventive
maintenance team for our portfolio of buildings in the Silicon Valley.
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides administrative support including typing, filing, answering
phones and distributing mail. Also monitors and distributes various
reports and assists with data input and various functions. Responsible
for maintaining the day-to-day relationships with customer contacts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide management for engineering staff, per the direction of the
chief engineer or manager - portfolio engineering, as applicable.
Conducting and monitoring performance measurement and management review
process, as applicable.
- Perform engineering maintenance analysis and repair activities, as
required. Provide hands-on and classroom training for engineering staff,
promote an environment of learning and development for the engineering
staff.
- Ensure that preventative maintenance activities are performed as
directed. Use Angus Anywhere preventative maintenance program to
optimize staffing and to promote sharing of resources between Equity
Office properties.
- Use Angus tenant request system to troubleshoot recurring problems and
to increase tenant comfort.
- Collaborate with regional and corporate staff for the execution of
strategic engineering related initiatives.
- Administer applicable safety and environmental programs, including
training and re-certification programs.
- Promote engineering best practices and champion continuous improvement
for all engineering related matters.
- Assist chief engineer or manager - portfolio engineering as directed.
- Support the leasing effort as needed.
- Collaborates with property management team to address customer
relation issues. Uses Angus tenant request data to minimize the overall
number of tenant request work orders and recurring work orders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three to Five years' experience in a lead role at a modern office
building.
- Two year trade school certificate emphasizing HVAC,
electrical, plumbing, life safety and building control systems.
- Good
leadership and training skills; strong employee and tenant relations
skills.
- Highest level relevant state/local license for stationary
engineer and/or HVAC, plus universal level refrigerant recovery license.
- BOMA accredited courses desirable. Certification meeting OSHA ACM
awareness training requirements.
