Technologies for Facilities Management Course

When used properly, technology can significantly enhance the performance of your facilities. This course will help you better understand the impact of technology on both workers and the workplace. You will gain the knowledge to evaluate your current technological services and systems, as well as to determine the appropriate technologies your portfolio requires. You will learn about hardware, software, telecommunications systems, computer-aided facility management, security systems, and much more.

Accelerated Course for FMA Designation

Major topics covered in this course:

  • The growth of technology in the workplace
  • CAFM (computer-aided facility management)
  • LANs (local area networks)
  • CAD (computer-aided design) systems
  • Telecommunications systems
  • Power, wiring, and flooring
  • HVAC, lighting, and ceilings
  • Technology-intensive spaces
  • Management of security systems

You will take away these key concepts and skills:

  • Guidance in recognizing which computer platforms and software applications will work with your company’s system
  • The ability to identify programs that suit your automation needs
  • The capability of evaluating and selecting technological systems and/or service

This accelerated course starts Friday, April 25, 2008.

 
Class Dates: Course will run three Fridays: April 25, May 9 & May 16
*Final exam: Friday, May 30, 2008 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

BOMA Course Registration Fees:  
Member $695
Non-Member $900
New Student Enrollment Fee $175
One-time enrollment fee for new BOMI students pursuing a Designation.
   
Course Fee $75
A $75.00 per course enrollment fee will apply to all individuals who obtain one designation and wish to pursue another.
