Facilities Planning & Project Management Course

Taking this course is a strategic move for any facilities planner or project manager. Through this course, you will develop the skills and knowledge critical to the successful execution of a facilities project: proper planning, selecting a building’s team, and following through with attention to detail. You will learn how to assemble and manage facilities teams and how to plan and implement facilities projects, including methods to control key elements of the process. In this course you will examine case studies on SFP models, project management methods, and outcomes. You will also study how to close out projects, how to complete and use a facilities annual report, and how to read and interpret architectural drawings.

  • Planning occupancy
  • Project close-out
  • Post-occupancy evaluation using facilities annual reports.

  • The ability to organize and successfully plan a facilities project
  • The knowledge you need to assemble a facilities team, including consultants
  • Guidelines for determining user needs
  • An understanding of the role each player has in managing a facility
 
Class Dates: Course will run  three consecutive Fridays: January 25, February 1 & February 8.
Final exam: February 15, 2008 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
