Purpose:
The purpose of this endeavor is to gather and review the current functions of each committee and components of the organization, to set strategic goals, and to ensure that there is a complimentary alignment of purpose. The organizational components included in this report are Executive Committee Goals (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer), Administrative Office Goals, Committees Goals, and the recent Membership Survey Results.
There are eleven (11) committees included in this 2004 report, including:

- Education Committee
- Sherie Dunn Golf Tournament Committee
- Government Affairs
- Membership Committee
- Share Your Holiday Committee
- Strategic Long Range Plan Committee
Process:
The SLRP committee provided each group or committee with criteria for developing SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, results-oriented, time determined). Each committee through its chair contributed to the SLRP plan by providing a report of their activities and future plans through 2006.
The SLRP committee reviewed all reports and ensured that goals were aligned between each group. In essence, we wanted to make sure that everyone was “on the same page”.
While each component perceivably works independently of each other, it is clear that they are in tune with the culture of the organization in moving forward toward the enhancement BOMA in the community, and of the commercial real estate industry as a whole.

This committee has committed to an ongoing process of review and modification, whereby it reconvenes on a periodic basis to monitor the activities of the organization and its components. Our intent is that the SLRP report will be reviewed and modified on a bi-annual basis concurrent with the election of each new Board of Directors.
The final report outlined on the following pages is intended to be used as a point of reference from one Board to the next, and from one committee chair to the next to ensure consistency, focus and future growth of the organization. A copy of the approved report will be posted on the BOMA Silicon Valley website.
